Henry Tyndale School, a special school located in Farnborough, was in desperate need of extra capacity. A canopy was a logical and practical way of achieving this.

The design for this canopy was true to Littlethorpe’s aesthetic, with solid hardwood posts and beams running the 30 metre length of the structure. The translucent roof allowed for as much light as possible to come into this outdoor area.

There was one particular challenge encountered with this project. Due to a high pressure oil pipeline running underneath the site, no below ground foundations could be installed. This also meant that the structure would need to be quickly disassembled should access to the pipeline be required. We met this challenge with creative solutions and this structure is now a well-functioning part of the Henry Tyndale School environment.
