Sustainable Hardwood Bus Shelters

Littlethorpe was established by Andy and Norma Robinson in 1983. We have decades of joinery experience, and have been providing quality, sustainable hardwood bus shelters for many years. Our hardwood bus shelters can be found up and down the UK. They are easy to recognise because of their timeless and distinctive look.

Over the years we have worked with a variety of different clients. We work mostly with parish, town, and county councils, and have also worked with many different companies and organisations.

Every location is unique and presents a slightly different challenge. Because of this, we pride ourselves on our ability to adapt our products to suit every need. We also offer a bespoke design service for those scenarios when a bus shelter isn’t quite the right fit. Check out our Custom Shelters & Structures page for some examples of our previous projects. There is a huge variety of what we can achieve using our joinery experience and sustainable hardwood. Ferry shelters, airing shelters, rail shelters, bike shelters, playground shelters and school canopies are just a few examples of this.

Sustainability

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and we are proud to be FSC® certified. (FSC-C109654) By using FSC certified hardwood, we are contributing to the demand for sustainable timber. As a result, this reduces the demand for needless deforestation that causes harm to communities, wildlife and our planet. We know that each tree has absorbed its maximum amount of carbon, and that the lifespan of our products will ensure this carbon stays locked inside the wood for as long as possible. By using FSC certified hardwood, we are helping to protect the world’s forests.

Looking Forward

Tom is the son of Andy and Norma, and Littlethorpe has always been a part of his life. Here he is in one of our Bushby shelters at age 7!

Welcoming Tom into the business and passing the torch to the next generation means that our core values will remain intact. Our focus at Littlethorpe has always been to provide quality, sustainably sourced hardwood products, with industry leading guarantees and excellent service that our clients will remember.
